The letters have been between the state's young Democrats and Nan S. Hutchison, director of Student Activities at the Junior College of Broward County.
The 12-story, $18-million Higher Education Center was designed by Singer Architects of Fort Lauderdale and constructed on the former site of the historic Governor's Club Hotel. The building covers 147,000 square Feet.
The Downtown Center sits in the heart of Fort Lauderdale. The larger building in the foreground is the Fort Lauderdale News building. Next to it is the Governor's Club Hotel, razed to provide the site for the joint FAU/BCC Higher Education Center, which was dedicated in 2001.
